Dame Carrie MacEwen

Congratulations to Professor Carrie MacEwen who has been appointed Dame Commander of the Order of the British Empire in the Queen's Birthday Honours List for services to Ophthalmology and Healthcare Leadership during the Covid-19 Response.
Carrie was President of the SOC from 2010 to 2012, having previously been an SOC Council Member.  She was also former President of the Royal College of Ophthalmologists and Chair of the Academy of Medical Royal Colleges.
We are extremely proud to see Carrie being recognised for all her efforts and leadership in promoting Ophthalmology and patient care. Carrie is a Consultant Ophthalmologist at Ninewells Hospital, Dundee.



We are delighted to announce we will be holding our 3rd Virtual SOC Meeting on Thursday 23 September 2021 from 5.30-7.30 pm.

Hosts for this meeting with be NHS Grampian.
